IN CLOSING
South Africa wants the 2008 World Carp Angling Championships
to be a full blown world championships event with all the nations that
normally participate, attending. It will surely be a big
disappointment if fewer nations participate due the high
cost of travelling to South Africa. We will therefore do our utmost best to keep
the cost as
low as possible for competitors by way of sponsors. For the
nations attending we want to make this event an unforgettable
experience by way of extreme good catches, South African
hospitality, good food and the building of lasting
relationships.
The
South African Freshwater Bank Angling Federation wants to
assure all participating countries that out of a bidding and
hosting perspective, we have the approval and backing of the
South African Government. Participants can therefore be
sure of a world class event equal to the best any country in
the world can offer. South Africa wants to and will be part of
world angling in the future and would therefore not forfeit
the trust of FIPS-ed in awarding this event to South Africa.
A promotional DVD / CD with all relevant
information regarding the 2008 World Carp Angling
Championships will be handed to all FIPS-ed members at the
2007 CIPS Congress in Prague in the Czech Republic.
South Africa, at this early stage, cordially invites all
FIPS-ed affiliated nations to attend the 2008 World Carp
Angling Championships. It will be a first for Africa and South
Africa in particular. Please help this young democracy to
experience the proudness to host and compete with the best in
the world in a mayor angling event on South African soil.
Since the new sport compensation and the unmanning of our
teams taking part in international tournaments, South Africa
attends most of FIPS-ed World Championships in the senior men,
ladies and junior pole facets. All this was done with no or
very little assistance from government or sponsors. We are
doing it for the love of the angling sport and for being proud
of participating in our national colours.
